I touch her and she walks away,
I lay beside her and she leaves my bed,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong,
Something wrong inside my head.
I want those things I cannot have,
I want those things only we can share,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong,
I need her but she’s never there.
So many years have passed away,
Since the day that we did meet,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong,
Love is there but it’s no longer sweet.
What will I do to pass the time,
When we should be making love,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong.
Now the rhymes no longer come,
An emptiness pervades my soul,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong,
As the world and I grow very old.
Together we will face the end,
Like two ships that ply different seas,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong,
I no longer feel the southern breeze.
You lay beside me still and cold,
I take your hand a final time,
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong,
I’ve lost your place within my mind.
