The universe of Any Tomorrow is expanding. As I told you in my last post, it was time to decide—and I have. That is one of the benefits of self-publication, the absolute right to change things, and it’s going to be a big change.
The Any Tomorrow series will now me nine novels, each telling the story of one of the eight main characters. Lives independent but interlaced on a level that even they are unaware of until the ninth and final novel in which their true destinies are revealed.
I have provided a short synopsis for each novel, along with the working title, to give you an idea of what I have in mind:
- The Shimmer: Gustav Linder is a brilliant young physicist whose world is thrown into disorder by a force that reveals not only the secrets of the universe, but his destiny.
- The Bringer of Knowledge: Bookish and introverted as a child, Ben Keller sought solace and safety in his studies. As a university professor, he clings to the rarefied atmosphere of academia. He is soon to discover, however, that many of his childhood nightmares weren’t fantasies after all.
- The Bringer of Light: Growing up in Kenya, Gerald Kunakucha found his life in turmoil as his parent’s traditions conflicted with a rapidly changing modern society. He would soon discover that those conflicts were nothing compared to his destiny.
- The Man of Earth: Mike Thirdman grew up poor, with little reason for ambition. He dropped out of high school, worked a series of menial jobs, with little hope for the future. But while Mike consigned himself to life at the bottom, fate had a different idea.
- The Seeker: Ever since she was young, Lucy Bayless heard a voice in her head. At first she called it her imaginary friend, but then it was something more. She came to believe that it was God talking to her, whispering in her ear to follow Him—or Her. Yes, it was definitely a woman. After college, she was accepted into seminary, but became disillusioned at the rigidity and her lack of acceptance. She walked out of the seminary and into a world she could never have imagined.
- The Man from Montana: The Montana rancher, Roberto de LaHoya, is the man of constant sorrow. Troubled and beset by questions he could never find an answer for, he found solace in his wife, Katie, his son, Jacob, and the Montana sky. He could not have foreseen that his fate would be to lose them all and gain a destiny beyond his imagining.
- The Key: Quiet and shy, Tyler Nolan’s life hid a dark and horrible past, but the man who was the heir to nothing would prove to be the key to everything. Unknowingly, his fate would determine the fate of not only his world, but all the worlds that are.
- Ereshkligal’s Own: Henry Turner’s parents desperately wanted a son to inherit the family fortune. The nouveau riche social climbers only wanted the best for him. Private school, nannies, access to the rich and powerful. But all that changed the day of his thirteenth birthday. The heir apparent, the spoiled legatee, they so desired, heard a voice and became the willing vessel for its dark and malevolent vision.
- Fellowship of the Seven: The final novel in the series brings them all together and reveals—No spoilers here. You’ll just have to wait and see what changes come.
I plan to release each of the novels sequentially, but you know how plans go. Since the stories are interlaced I need to ensure that their storylines remain consistent and non-contradictory.
Along with nine novels in the Any Tomorrow series, I have six more novels from the same universe either provisionally completed or well in the works. But for now I’ll just share with you their working titles:
- The Palace of the Dancing Lights
- 1933
- Cartersville: One Exit Past Normal
- Last Pope of Antioch
- Grayson’s Mountain
- The Darkened Room
I plan to publish all these as both eBooks and hardcopies in order to reach the widest potential audiences.
As I hope you can tell, I am very excited about this latest part of the self-publishing adventure. I can’t wait to share my stories with you.
Be sure to follow me so that we can share the universe together.
