I discovered yesterday that Any Tomorrow: The Calling is now in the Diesel eBook Store catalog. Same reasonable price, just $2.99. I’d really like to see sales from each of the venues (Diesel, Barnes & Noble, Apple, Sony etc.) so I’ll know how much of that $2.99 I actually get to keep. It’s been my experience that the math seldom comes out exactly the way I’d expect.
On another note, I’ve decided to postpone distribution of the eBook in the Any Tomorrow Trilogy, Any Tomorrow: The Curse, while trying to acquire the right cover art. I’d prefer to use a photo and shoot it and process it myself. I was quite please with the cover art for Any Tomorrow: The Calling and hope I can do even better for Any Tomorrow: The Curse. The problem is that I need to acquire a good image of an “angry ocean” but so far the weather has been absolutely beautiful. Not to worry though, the Atlantic Hurricane Season starts tomorrow. I don’t want a hurricane, but a really good tropical storm would be appreciated.
If you’re interested in seeing what my chances are for shooting a tropical storm or hurricane you can check the National Hurricane Center (NHC). The NHC is one of those places that has a ton of information available about current and historical tropical cyclone activity that might prove of interest as background color for your writing.
Another interesting site is the National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) which has a ton of information on earthquakes and other hazards. Even if you’re not scientifically or technically inclined, data from the USGS might give you an idea for further research or even contribute to your plot.
Finally, one last site you may find of interest is the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC). This site has information on volcanoes and volcanoes, like hurricanes and earthquakes, can always add a sense of urgency to your plot.
You just never know where your inspiration will come from. Okay, I’m a geographer so I really like this stuff, but hopefully you’ll find it interesting and helpful also.
