cjsand asked for it, so here it is. A teaser, a little hint about the storyline of the Any Tomorrow trilogy. I guess I should have provided this before, but up until very recently I wasn’t completely sure what form the novel would take, or even if it would be at all. Right now, though, I have an excellent opportunity to finish formatting the first book and getting it into Smashwords and Kindle. My wife is gone for the weekend and I have the house to myself, except for the dogs, cat, fish, birds, and a chicken (yes, a chicken). We used to have around thirty chickens, but our flock, thanks to evil raccoons, has dwindled down to just one old biddy whose henhouse is now a large birdcage on the back porch.
But I digress. Here, for the first time, is a teaser for each book of the Any Tomorrow trilogy.
Any Tomorrow: The Calling is the story of an unwilling fellowship compelled by an undeniable destiny who find their ultimate meaning in a world savaged by a nuclear and biological apocalypse. Caught up in a relentless flood whose headwaters formed five thousand years earlier in ancient Mesopotamia, a young Jewish physicist in pre-war Germany unwittingly triggers a series of events that will determine not only the destiny of his world, but of all the worlds that are. Any Tomorrow: The Calling is a story about the destiny of a few and the fate of everything.
Any Tomorrow: The Curse continues the story of a reticent fellowship drawn together to confront an ancient evil that fills the empty places in the human heart with lies of a new world from the ashes of the old, and as they discover that there are greater evils than those that manifest themselves in human form the fellowship begins a journey that will take them to the farthest corners of the world. Any Tomorrow: The Curse follows the fellowship as they seek to find meaning in an existence over which they exercise little control as they witness madness and murder in the darkest heart of an apocalyptic nightmare.
Any Tomorrow: The Culling completes the story as the men and women who were drawn into fellowship fulfill their destinies and complete a strange and terrible journey that began with a dream of a place far removed in time and space from a young Jewish physicist in pre-war Germany, and in doing so complete the eternal cycle of life and death, light and darkness, beginning and end. Any Tomorrow: The Culling is a story of hope, of love, of life, of ending, of beginning.
If all goes well with the formatting this weekend, I will post the first few paragraphs of Any Tomorrow: The Calling for you to peruse. I hope they will peak your interest, perhaps even enough to download a copy of the book.
Until that happens, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about what I’ve posted, self-publishing, or anything else, you are encouraged to post a comment and I’ll be happy to answer it.
