About

Welcome to anytomorrow.com

My name is Kevin Fraleigh, I’m a novelist and poet.

anytomorrow is a blog about writing. My writing, your writing, the process itself.

I am a retired technical writer and geographer, specializing in imagery analysis. In my working career, I learned the value of reinvention. In the corporate world you have to remain flexible and do what keeps you employed. I have a B.A. in Geography and an MS in Technical Management.

It seems like I’ve always been writing, but I didn’t start to take it seriously until I developed an interest in religion. But after three years of college I had more questions than answers, so I quit and spent the next twenty years in the U.S. Air Force. Over the years I’ve maintained an inquisitive interest in religion, physics, psychology, and history. All these interest areas come together in geography, and geography is well represented in my writing.

anytomorrow was originally intended to be a blog about my efforts to self-publish a novel and leave it at that. As things often do though, it has grown into something more. I use it to sandbox ideas, and hopefully inspire some of yours.

anytomorrow is an occasional blog about writing and getting published. I post to it when I have something to say, hopefully something that will be of value to you.

Self-publication isn’t easy. There are lots of things that can go wrong. Self-publication is an experiment that includes writing, publication, distribution, and marketing. In this blog, we’ll experience all of them. And if you’ve got a better idea, I’d love to hear from you, and you are encouraged to leave comments.

If you care to follow along, we can walk through this process together. And feel free to leave comments or suggestions for me, or email me at kevin.fraleigh@anytomorrow.com.

  2. Hi Kevin – I am glad to have found your blog! As a writer who is just beginning to learn about all the various options out there for self-publishing, I look forward to following you on this journey!

  3. Found you through E fiction. I am on the same journey. I have numerous rejections all which I take as encourage ment to revise and improve. I am starting to think about self publishing. I am not sure I have the energy to both work on being published and writing.

    1. Working and self-publishing an eBook is the easy part. Smashwords has a guide that is pretty much idiot-proof. If your eBook file passes Smashwords’ checkers, it’s just about ready for Amazon. Working and getting your book noticed is the hard part. That demands lots and lots of computer time getting your name known, making connections, generating “buzz”. Writing communities like eFiction are very helpful because they give you a platform to showcase your talents – and hopefully the interaction with other indie authors will keep you from getting too discouraged.

The good news is that publishing and distribution are free, other than the time you are willing to invest. And there’s always that chance that your eBook will be the one that makes it big. Just keep on writing!
